Eek! Majorly freaking out!

We reserved a new build last weekend. It will be ready at the end of November which gives us no time at all to prepare!
We're part exchanging so that makes it easier but we have so much stuff!
We decluttered during lockdown but there is still stuff in the loft to sell.
Should we attempt to love ourselves? (3 bed house plus shed and playhouse) or pay for movers to do it all? Last time we moved it was from a rented property and we did it ourselves as we had an overlap where we had keys to both houses.

On top of this, I'm a FT teacher that has just taken on new responsibilities and there are two kids and a dog to factor in!

Pay for movers, without a doubt.

You've got two months! Plenty of time if you want to try selling stuff - but do it now rather than leaving it, so you can work out how to get rid if it doesn't sell.

Then you will have half term for packing / cleaning / last minute stuff. Not many folk get a week off before their move. That will be lovely. Just don't leave it all until then.

Thank you for your advice. Will get in the loft!

We booked a 4 night break over half term unfortunately. Wonder what the cancellation policy is like? I'll have to check.

If you are moving when you come back, pay for the packing service

Get them to pack and move the stuff into storage the day you go away

Go on holiday and then have the stuff moved when you come back

If there's a bigger gap, just do the packing service anyway then you can still enjoy your holiday and not worry about it!

It's not really that much more and it's definitely worth it!

Sorry I see it's ready end of November - I wouldn't cancel your holiday then! Just keep decluttering and when it's time to move, you'll be all slimmed down and ready to go! (And definitely pay for packing!)

Declutter now then pay packer and movers. My 5 bedroom house was packed up within three hours! I had a one year old and 2 year old so went for the least stressy option.

Pay for movers and packers if you can afford it. Takes so much stress out of an already stressful process. Worth every penny!
