Taps and Showers

We are doing up our bathroom and it seems that all the websites and magazines are featuring black/brass/copper taps and showers. I am keen to try non chrome ones too but I would like them to be (1) from a good brand so hopefully will last longer, and (2) not super expensive.

Any recommenations please? Thanks in advance!

We used drench for our taps - Lusso stone have some beautiful ones but on the pricey side!

Thanks @Simonutti72 for your recommendations, I will look them up! Which colour/metal did you go for?

We have brushed steel as I have a boring husband 😂

Black are really difficult to keep clean if you live in an area with heavy limescale.

Crosswater have started doing them but I think they're mid-range.

Second Lusso. I’ve got a shower and sink with black hardware and it’s all lovely quality.

I’ve looked back & our basin taps were Lusso & we used Drench for the shower. They are lovely (although not black like I wanted😂)

We have installed Lusso Stone recently. Very pleased with the quality so far.

I recommend

  • Crosswater
  • Justtaps
  • Arteform

All solid construction and British made so work with crappy British water pressure

Range of finishes available incl black and brass

We have brushed nickel and brushed steel (v similar) because I think black will show limescale and both black and brass will date. Also there’s always one or two things (eg loo flush) which only come in a silver finish!!

Needacoat · 28/09/2021 23:12

Thank you for all the lovely suggestions! I started out wanting black, but now I am having second thoughts because of the possible mismatch loo flush.....

There might be black ones now… I just remember a couple of years ago, you could get taps and showers in lots of finishes but all the other bits mostly came in some version of silver unless you paid £££

But black’s been around a bit longer now so may be more available

Crosswater do a number of black flush plates.
