Help: Who do I need to employ?

We have a single story kitchen extension with a picture window I’d like to change to French doors or sliding. Simple job I’m sure.

Outside there’s only about a foot of space from where the new door would be to a retaining wall in the garden. So to be able to step out we need to have earth removed and a landing area created and steps up to the level at the top of the wall. I’m sure there are building regs about this exit arrangement (sizes of areas etc).

Who should I contact to start this process?
An architect? A builder? Patio door company? Garden landscaper? It’s a small job so I really don’t want to have to employ all of the above!

i'd start with a builder. they can source a new door etc.

I would say general builder. An experienced firm of builders should know the regs and be able to do landscaping (may not be so hot on aesthetic design aspects so do your own Pinterest research on how you want it to look). They can also fit the doors though again you may want to do your own research on which type/brand you want.
