Help please - Hive Landlord Tenant

So a Landlord I know has received an email today regarding setting up their new Hive Account for their new boiler but wouldn't the tenant need to set the Hive Account nder their email address? Is it as simple as getting British gas or Hive to ask them to change the email address to the tenants email address?
Is Hive related to British Gas?
What happens when the tenants leave?

Hive is a stand alone company/product
Did the hive thermostat get put in when the new boiler got installed?
I would imagine the tenant would set it up on their details as its them who would be controlling the thermostat

Not certain but I seem to remember that once a Hive device is registered to an email address, it can't be changed. Its designers (part of the group that owns British Gas) clearly didn't consider the fairly obvious use case that the OP describes. Or maybe they did and just wanted to sell more devices.
