Eg will there be larvae or eggs somewhere, they seem to comes from behind the cabinets!

When it's stripped out is there anything I should be putting down!

Diatomaceous earth

Dichotomous earth under units and behind plinths. You won’t find the larvae, they’re too small. You need everything to be completely dry, they will be there on account of damp wood somewhere.

We had an infestation in our wooden floored dining room once. As the mainly come out in the dark, I had no idea they were there until.one evening I walked through and turned on the light. There were literally hundreds scuttling back towards the skirting boards.

We tried a few things but the one that worked was Nippon ant powder all around the skirting boards in the rooms with wooden floors. We left it down while we went away on holiday. Hoovered it up when we got back and never say another silverfish.

Good ideas thank you.

I'm concerned about powders though that can be inhaled, dd has a type of asthma.

Someone reccomend talc as it smothers them

I think they are there because the seal has gone between the wooden work top and the back of the cabinets, must be about 20 plus years old!

I'm really hoping removing all those cabinets will really help and whilst it's empty I'll put this stuff down.

I'm hoping new cabinets, plastered room... All fresh will sort out the issue
