Gutters

This is a new issue for me because I've just moved into our first house ( had a flat before so no gutters to worry about) . We live next to a park with large trees that continuously drop leaves. Had the gutters cleared out about 6 weeks ago, it cost £70 although he did also clean all the windows for that too . But the gutters are blocked with leaves again already . Seems a bit much to have to pay £70 every 6 weeks, or is this the norm ? Is it just one of the downsides of living under trees? I don't think I can get it done for less (London). I thought about trying to do it myself but both me and husband are scared of heights!

Time of year. Trees lose their leaves in Autumn so no point clearing them until the trees have all finished. Then you should be ok through to next August.

Yes autumn is going to be bad for leaves falling but they've been falling pretty steadily since we moved in in May so I think it's a continuous thing not just autumn.

We also suffer from damp in the house and overflowing gutters can cause that so I really need to keep them clear. I don't think it would be good just to leave them blocked for weeks or months.

The gutter guards look interesting , I'll look into that.
