Changing kitchen flooring on a budget ?

This is what the flooring currently looks like and I'm wanting to change it. I was thinking of just buying some vinyl planks and then using sealant around the edges....this would cost a total of around £300 including all the materials and I'd do the job myself.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

We managed to get porcelain tiles for our kitchen on clearance from Homebase for £60 and then someone fitted them for £200. If you're open to hanging back and looking for clearance bargains you may be able to get more than you expect for your budget?
