Aircon costs

We have a loft bedroom which is lovely
In the winter. We live near a shop which is noisy early in the morning so when we have our helix windows open we often get woken up. We also find it hard to sleep with the windows open because of the light! So have to wear eye masks. We don't want to move as we love our house. We are thinking of having proper air con installed just it that room. Has anyone has this done? How much very roughly was it? I have been looking at quiet units that are installed on the outside of the house. Any help appreciated

We have a heat pump in our loft room. It does both heating and air conditioning. It makes the room usable when the temperature gets ridiculous, but other than that, open windows give a nice breeze.

It was installed over 20 years ago, so I can't remember the cost - maybe £1000?

We had it installed with the loft conversion so did not have to pay for plumbing and radiators.

We have the same issue. Loft room and near a factory. I can't bring myself to get aircon, partly because it's an environmental problem and partly because I think I can hear the pound coins tick away when I turn things like that on.

We bought a two good fans last year, they use very little electricity and they cool the room well, with the added bonus of emitting just enough white noise to drown out the factory.

We have tried fans and air cooling type tower fans..... nothing seems to help. It's either full on air con, move and have more mortgage debts or slowly go mad with tiredness and broken sleep 😭

I'm interested to know as well. Online searches seem to put it around £700.
