Evening! FTB here and unfortunately it looks like it will all fall apart next week. My solicitor has been fantastic and I'm more than happy to pay the full bill, but what normally happens? Are the fees reduced slightly if the purchase doesn't complete? Thanks Smile

In my experience you pay for what work they've done regardless of whether it completes or not. Sorry it's fallen through for you

Your T&Cs letter should explain what will happen - at my firm we charge a percentage of the initially quoted fixed fee depending on how much work has been done Smile

My solicitor had a sliding scale depending on how far you are along in the process. If you’re close to exchange then it might be 100 or 80 percent. It’ll be in the contract you signed when you instructed them.

Thank you all! I did have a paper somewhere with their fees on but I must have misplaced it or maybe sent it back to them with other paperwork that I've signed 🤦‍♀️ luckily we are no where near exchange. Solicitor hasn't even reported back to the lender yet but all my searches etc have come back. I will find out when the bill comes Grin
