Oven problem!

I think I have an issue with my cooker, the inside oven the flame is orange, I’ve read online and it says not to use it in this case but I don’t know what else I do? I am in a council property and it was installed by my sisters neighbours partner who is a registered gas engineer but I am no longer in contact with him. I can’t really afford to have someone out as I don’t have the money to do that, does anyone know how I can fix it?

You absolutely cannot fix a gas cooker yourself, do not even try.

I know money is tight but you have to use a registered and competent gas fitter to resolve the problem.

Also you're right not to use it if the flame isn't blue it means it's not burning the gas cleanly and this is also very dangerous.

Please get someone qualified to work with gas appliances to look at it.

If it's a council property isn't it their responsibility?

Lavendersquare you are right I won’t touch it, I just know how expensive it will be to call someone in and we can’t use it till I can afford it

maofteens I don’t think so as I had to pay for someone to install it as the council don’t install cookers so I don’t think it’s their job to maintain them if something goes wrong?
