When we first moved in to our 1960s semi 18 years ago there was a back boiler which we replaced with a combi when we could afford it. The chimney breast wasn't touched at all. We still have the ugly circa 1980s gas fire in the lounge which I've wanted to replace since we moved in but never got around to. I want to replace it with a modern electric fire that won't take up as much floor space.
Does anyone know if this is a straightforward job or not?
