What’s the craziest thing you’ve done to get your dream home?

We’ve moved out of ours and there is no sign of our purchase happening in the foreseeable 😬. Why were we so naive?! Please someone tell me some crazy stories to reassure me I’m not the stupidest person on the planet!

We moved in July 2020 from a Victorian semi to a modern house with a garden for our autistic son. It hasn't worked well as one of his issues is throwing and obviously the neighbours don't appreciate various objects in their gardens. We have already put house on the market, accepted an offer and (in)patiently waiting for a house just like our old one to come on the market. The same one would be ideal.
