Need to buy some for our new house. I've read that the type of pans an make a big difference. Which are best? Any recommendations?

This thread is a bit old now, but if you’re looking for guidance on which kitchenware to buy, we’ve recently refreshed our best wok, best frying pan and best saucepan guides with plenty of high-quality, induction hob-safe products recommended by Mumsnetters. We hope you find them useful.

This is the set I have.....they're brilliant. Non stick, a lovely colour, and still perfect after 5 years.

I just picked some induction friendly ones up from TKMaxx.
Not had issues with them.

pickingdaisies · 10/09/2021 22:22

John Lewis own brand stainless steel.

tralalalalalalalalala · 10/09/2021 22:24

Le Creuset are great. We've had ours for 15+ years and they're still going strong.

LoveFall · 10/09/2021 22:31

We have a set of Kirkland stainless steel from Costco. They have stood up well and have lovely thick bottoms. I also have quite a few sizes of non stick fry pans. They were Jamie Oliver I think. They have been basically indestructible.

I even still use a cast iron dutch oven that belonged to my grandparents and is probably 100 years old.

Dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 11/09/2021 01:38

I like these shiny non-stick Circulon onescirculon.uk.com/collections/cookware-pan-sets/products/momentum-stainless-steel-5-piece-pan-set

Ikea the top of the range ones and the ones just below (sorry dont know names). They are thick bottomed and thick sides so even cooking at a good price.

SherryPalmer · 11/09/2021 03:32

Le creuset stainless steel, we have these and one extra IKEA one and the Le creuset ones cook quicker.

MovingSchmoving · 11/09/2021 03:34

I got overwhelmed by all the choice of induction pans and so just ended up getting some IKEA ones and they’ve been great. I think it was £45 for 4, great value.

bert3400 · 11/09/2021 03:36

Tefal ingenio . The handles are removable . Absolutely brilliant for storage, dishwasher and all things cooking related

jay55 · 11/09/2021 07:15

I have le creuset and tefal.

If you have pans you love that are not compatible you can get converter plates/magnets and keep using them.

Just make sure anything you have has a flat bottom.
Anything curved like a wok or sauté pan will not heat as well.

DGFB · 11/09/2021 07:17

Le Creuset. I’ve had mine 3 years and they are still as new as the day I bought them.
So expensive but I think they will last 20+ years

longerevenings · 11/09/2021 15:00

We swapped Le Creuset when we had induction hobs and have never gone back.

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 11/09/2021 16:28

We also added more Le Creuset to our already existing collection. Have stainless steel ones and cast iron. They are very expensive but worth the money.
Another nice brand is Fissler

Roselilly36 · 11/09/2021 16:33

We have a Pro Cook set, they work well on our Bosch induction hob.

Imonaplane · 11/09/2021 22:23

IKEA Oumbarlig. Cheap as chips and they work really well on my induction hob.

This is what I have too. Very space saving.
minipie · 11/09/2021 22:29

I have a ProCook set of frying pans, disappointingly the larger ones have warped so they don’t sit flat on the hob any more.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/09/2021 23:00

Stellar

IsItAllOverYetPlease · 11/09/2021 23:07

Thanks everyone. I had decided to go with procook before I saw the last comment. wondering if they'll warp now though.
