Got offered a house in Brighton I don't know the area well (moving for personal reasons I can't go into) it's council.
It's not in Whitehawk or mouslecoomb it's somewhere in between it's near Coombe road does anyone know this area? I need primary school and secondary and just don't want to take anything in a bad area as we have been through a lot. Any opinions really appreciated TiA

I live quite close to Coombe Road. It’s not a bad area.
Whitehawk and Moulsecoomb are quite poor areas, with all the associated problems, but Coombe Road is fine - though you’ll have to walk up a lot of hills.
There are some good schools nearby - Elm Drive is decent apparently. You’ll probably be quite close to Bevendean, another council estate, which has a good primary school with lots of green space.
Coombe Road is quite close to the Downs so you can access the countryside if that’s your thing, but Brighton is small and easily walkable, so no matter where you are it’s easy to get into town/to the beach.
PM me if you want more local info. Brighton is great.

Typical student area. Nothing like Whitehawk or Moulsecoomb. I've lived there before and would again.

Not a bad area, yes lots of students as close to uni. Busy, hilly area,, but lots of areas in Brighton are. Very central to London Road. Lots of supermarkets close by. Can you go and view?
