We have a old warm air heating system in our house that is no longer used (new central heating installed a few years ago) The vents and pipes are still in place.
Recently we've noticed a horrible smell coming from the old boiler cupboard, and from the vents that don't fully close. It's horrible, almost like a old fridge that not been turned on for ages.. Can't think of what else to describe it like.
I've put bicarb soda in the cupboard but it's done nothing.
I'm not sure if it's because I'm thinking of it more or what but it definitely seems the smell is getting worse.
Aside from the likely dead animal, what else could it be? The pipes arent accessible so I can't have a look right now.
What else can I try for the smell? It's driving me nuts.
Obviously getting into the pipes is a priority but im isolating just now with two small kids so I can't start pulling walls and floors apart.
