Internal Gas Meter

My gas meter is installed in a kitchen cabinet with some shelves and lots of storage space. Does this cupboard have to be kept clear or can I store things in it?

You can store things in it but you need to allow unrestricted access to your energy supplier if they want to read the meter or carry out any maintenance.

Ok thanks. Was just worried incase it was dangerous to store things around it.

Also just to add...my electric meter/fuse box is in a massive storage cupboard (far away from the gas meter.) This is fine to use as storage isn't it? Be a massive waste of space if not! I literally am never happy unless I have found something to worry about
