Hi @PigletJohn . Our water is really slow to leave our sink recently - I'll post a pic of the plug and the plug hole. Does it unscrew? I don't want to force it and break it.

It's a push down push to release plug never liked it

We've got plugs like that in our refurbished bathroom. That should just unscrew and then depending on what is actually blocking the sink you can use a plunger or sink unblocker. In our bathroom it's usually DS's beard hair that causes the problem!

Thanks @bigbluebus - ill give it a go.

Doesn't seem to be budging- don't want to force it!

We have these in our house. Worth giving a squirt of WD40 every so often too as they often get stuck in the down position!

We don't tend to get blockages in the sink plug but the shower plug is normally sorted with a plunger (and quickly grabbing the hideous chunk of matted hair that comes out of it!)

As PP says, the top bit should just unscrew (anti clockwise).

I don't recognise the square model, but it sounds like a Clacker waste. Push down once to close, push down again and it springs up to open. Some people call it a clicker or a push-down.

they normally are round and the mushroom unscrews. I don't know if there's anything unusual because it's square. Try any matching ones, e.g. the bath. Try pulling upwards.

Is it one of these? Architeckt is their budget line. I always get Bristan.

If you want to lube any plumbing parts, try to get some white silicone plumbers grease. It does not stain or wash away. Very useful for taps. You might have to mail-order. An ounce will last a lifetime.

If you break it, a replacement is not expensive.

Thanks everyone.
Thanks @PigletJohn - a tiny bit more force and it popped open.

In went my long hookie Velcro took and dear god, I cannot tell you what came out.

Flushed it through and it's as good as new!

Thank you!
