Bedroom decorated same as lounge!

I have wanted to decorate my bedroom for ages.
Saw something I really liked but couldn’t find the exact wallpaper for feature wall.
Found something similar, bought that. Bought paint for walls, new bedding, blinds, cushions, light fittings accessories.
Just dawned on me it’s very very similar to the lounge!!! How did I not see this before?! What an idiot!!!
Is it totally weird to have bedroom and living room very similar?

No absolutely fine. I'd have my whole house all different shades of green if possible. So calming and chic.

If you really like a colour why then why not have it in the two rooms you spend the most time in?Smile

Can we see a pic of your new room please

Workinghardeveryday · 30/08/2021 18:58

Haven’t done it yet, just got everything ready to go and suddenly thought 😱. Doing it Thursday.
It’s a feature wall with damask wallpaper. The wallpaper is very similar, not the same but the whole colour scheme is very similar

Realistically, who is likely to see both, except you and perhaps a partner? If it’s a one night stand they won’t care, and if it’s a DP, they’re not going to judge you unfavourably (and if they do, they can go fuck themselves!). As long as you like it, do it.

The heart wants what the wants! It's your castle, OP but I think you should go the whole hog now and decorate the whole house the same, I expect it'll make it look a lot bigger?😁
It sounds gorgeous anyway! X

I wanna see pics too

My bedroom and living room are really similar. I love the style, so why not? It makes the house feel quite ‘put together’ if that makes sense? Like having matching shoes and handbag!

Workinghardeveryday · 31/08/2021 07:56

Thanks everyone, I will just go for it and do it. At the end of the day it really must be my style if I picked it again 😊

My whole house is various shades of teal from darkest to lightest. If you love it do it .😊

If it is single storey, could you knock it through?
If two storey perhaps a spiral staircase could integrate the two?

I'm sure I read that having a colour theme throughout the house ties it all together. I'm obsessed with reading home magazines at the moment so it was likely a designer in one of those.

maofteens · 02/09/2021 14:02

Perfectly normal. I'm a bit worried that though I've got a vague Spanish thing going, that my rooms look too different. I've just moved and decorating from scratch as brought hardly any furniture. But you are talking about a public room and private room, so fine to be different or similiar!

BertieBotts · 02/09/2021 14:02

Oooh do this! I bet it will look great:

We bought a house where almost every room was the same colour, albeit in different shades. It was not the lovely idea that designers would have you believe!

None of them are that colour now Grin

Have fun!!
