Moving to Upton

Hi all
We are looking to buy a family home initially to rent out full time & then to have a holiday let/ 2nd home for us & grown up children & in about 10 yrs move into fully for our retirement. We are keen to be near countryside/ coastal areas & perhaps a train/ car ride away from some culture & our grown up children in Surrey where we are currently based.We have been checking out the newforest & Poole/Christchurch & came across a house in Upton. Just wondered if this was a peaceful area to live? I notice no local pub or many shops but a fair bit in neighbouring Hamworthy & of course Poole. I have seen online to avoid Turlin Moor estate as it can be a bit rough but wondered is it otherwise a pretty safe area to live?

Yep, Upton is pretty good

Upton is nice. Not too far from poole town centre. Avoid turlin moor and some parts of hamworthy - Hamworthy can be a bit rough in parts.... still better than most inner cities. Lots of nice areas in poole and bournemouth.

Upton and Creekmoor generally all good, Turlin Moor isnt. Parts of Hamworthy are ok-ish but can take forever to get in and out if the bridges are closed. Broadstone is good, Lower Parkstone (BH14) is the nicest. Lots of low level street crime in Upper Parkstone (BH12) area at the moment. Parts of Poole town centre are ok.

Ah just seen it’s a buy to let mainly. Lack of rentals everywhere at the moment,Upton and Creekmoor good places for BTL
