Hi. Could anyone let me know how long the deposit should be in the bank in regards to the mortgage.

How long?

There is no specficied time it needs to be in the bank but u will need to prove where the money came from. ( I. E saving or if it has been gifted form family you will need to prove that for anti money laundering purposes)

As @JLQ1020 says, it doesn't matter how long, it's the proof of where the funds came from you must provide (e.g. proceeds for sale of house, savings, gift). The bank will insist on a paper trail.

This, they need to know where the money has come from, and if it’s been gifted that it’s not a loan.
