Standard estate agents practice..

What is the standard practice when someone offers on your house? I feel like I’m constantly chasing my agent for news and it’s literally driving me crazy!

Had an offer late Monday evening, Tuesday morning I had a telephone call with agent and advised offer was too low and could they increase (generally first offer always on the low side). He said he would call back once he had spoken to them - didn’t hear anything all day. Chased yesterday was told would get back to me (they didn’t) and still nothingn today. Should I assume no news is bad news? How hard is it to email and update even if that update is “they are thinking about it and will let me know”.

Finding it so frustrating but wondered if my agents are shit or is this pretty standard? Only sold once before (with same agents) but don’t remember having to chase them up all the time!

Sorry - rant over 🤣
