Beautiful smelling WC in new house!

Okay, completely random!

We moved last week and the new house WC smelt devine! Like febreeze, or something.

The only thing i can imagine the smell coming from is there was lots of foam in toilet, like when you flush after putting bleach down toilet. But surely that won't keep a smell going for days on end?

It's been about a week now and the smell has only just stopped.

So what was it they used??? I MUST HAVE IT 😂

I feel like I need to know too now...

Ask them Confused

Backtobacktheyfacedeachother · 25/08/2021 17:48

Did you open the cistern and see if there was a toilet block in it of some description?

Wilmaa · 25/08/2021 17:48

I would say a toilet block too

Wilmaa · 25/08/2021 17:49

But will you ask them as my toilet blocks don't spell and I want them to 😂

shoofly · 25/08/2021 17:49

Was it maybe one of those bloo cistern cleaners? It'll give you the foam and nice smell when you flush

😂😂😂😂

So can't get into cistern as it's like a fixed enclosed back thingy to the loo!

I have asked DH to see if the house messenger app still works so we can ask her. I think he thinks I'm insane 😄

If i find out the answer I will let you all know!

The smell from putting Zoflora down the plug hole lasts for days and days and a lot of them smell quite 'febreezey'. Could it be that?

I’ve had loo rolls where the inner tube is scented and made the loo smell nice , did they leave spare rolls in there ?

SunnyUpNorth · 25/08/2021 21:37

Could it be the Bloo stuff that you shake into the toilet and then it foams up when you flush? Not the one listed above, this one is in a tall tub and you shake a bit in. It smells absolutely gorgeous but I’m not sure it would last more than a day or so.

I was Googling how to get into concealed toilet cistern -there has to be a way due to leakage/maintenance access. Having googled I can see it’s far too much effort for someone to put a block in the tank, I wonder if it was one of those toilet discs but they stuck it up under the rim out of sight?
I hope you find out, I’d love to know.

my sister's toilet smells really nice, turns out she had those green gel things that you stick under the the inside of the toilet bowl rim

Cissyandflora · 27/08/2021 10:16

I would bet it’s scented loo roll. If it’s a concealed cistern they won’t be messing with it putting anything in. It’s not the toilet is my bet.

Dogoodfeelgood · 27/08/2021 10:20

The gel blobs do this! But so much plastic in the blobbing contraption to give you 6 blobs of loo scent, so I stopped using them due to environmental guilt.
