If you're currently in a rented accommodation or FTB, how long have you been house hunting?

If you're currently in a rented accommodation, FTB or living with family and actively looking to buy a house - how long have you been searching for a house to buy and whereabouts in the country are you?

I'll start - in rented accomodation, actively looking for 4 months in East Cheshire.

In rented, looking for 6 months (although quite on and off) in London.

We looked for 12 months before completing in June. Also london but couldnt decide on location and everything we did like within budget got snapped up quickly.

We were in rented for a year-looking in Cheshire West. We didn’t offer enough in a few, 2 purchases fell through (not our fault) and others got snapped up before we could view. We completed in June and ended up moving to N Wales! We love it-and wouldn’t have got our house if we hadn’t been chain free.

Wow whereabouts in North Wales if you don't mind me asking? Did you find that the competition wasn't as tough or there were more house options to buy in North Wales than Cheshire West? We've been seriously contemplating opening up our search area as my husband and I both work from home permanently with no DCs yet.

Hampshire. Been renting for almost 2 months. Been looking for houses for 3 months (longer really but weren't ready to buy until June so didn't start viewing until then). Just had an offer accepted.

Renting in Cambridge, been looking for the past 10 months. But have been looking at a very specific small area, so probably why.
