Experiences of installing and living with Marmoleum (linoleum) or bamboo flooring

I'm thinking of getting Marmoleum (linoleum) for my kitchen and bamboo flooring for the living room, does anyone have any experience with these and any hints or tips? I've heard that marmoleum needs to be properly installed, especially the sheet version and needs an experienced installer as the sub-floor needs to be perfect otherwise any imperfections will show up. Is bamboo flooring hardwearing?

We have bamboo throughout our downstairs, and Marmoleum in our kitchen. The bamboo has been down about 12 years, and looks as good as new. The kitchen floor has been down 18 years and still looks fab. We're changing the kitchen later this year and will be installing Marmoleum again.

@skippy67 Do you have the sheet version of Marmoleum? Was it hard to find someone to install it? Glad the bamboo is hardwearing as well.

I have the tile version. It was installed by a local company. I really love the look of the sheet version though, and will be getting that next time round.

It's good to know that the tile version lasts well, is it the modular one rather than the click version?

I had bamboo in my last house. It lasted well. However, the fitters hated it - it splintered.

We have marmoleum click in our kitchen. I installed it with my sister and it wasn't too bad. I have only had it a couple if years but no issues so far. And because I got a marbled pattern I don't have to clean it so often

Modular.

Interesting. We're planning to get this soon. Did you have solid or the "strand woven" stuff?
