Cost of skimming room

We've been quoted £700+vat to strip wallpaper and skim a medium sized room - is this normal?

Including stripping the wallpaper I'd say yes that's fairly normal

This is what my friend was quoted. She called a few other plasterers and found a trainee who charges less and is slower. He is excellent though she's very pleased.
