LVT screed & cat nightmare!

I feel like an absolute idiot!

We just had fresh screed put down in our kitchen and dining room ready for our LVT to be fit tomorrow. The gutters had finished an hour earlier and explained not to walk on it until it was dry and had lost its shine (in about five hours). After they left, I nipped to the toilet and went to get my phone from our bedroom when one of the cats escaped and ran straight downstairs, through the kitchen and dining room to the back door which is in there. We’d locked the cat flap as one had refused to come in so all we could hear was him scrambling around trying to get out.

In the panic, I managed to rescue him but left a trail of my own footprints which now look worse than the cat’s.

I feel like I’ve really messed up! Other half called the fitters and they said they’d try to deal with it tomorrow but I feel like an absolute fool!

Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Was it easy to fix? I can’t bare the thought of facing them tomorrow morning.

There was a thread fairly recently where a poster had trodden (or fallen?) in the newly laid screed and tried to fix it with a cake smoother.

Oh thank you. I’ll try and find it. I’m glad I didn’t managed to fall in it too!
