Any suggestions on how to find property for sale other than Rightmove? Thanks!

Zoopla.

Rightmove is extremely close to having a monopoly on property listings. It is unlikely that a property for sale will be listed on Zoopla or OnTheMarket, but not appear on Rightmove.

Just seems as though there is nothing about at the moment!!

Onthemarket does pick up a few properties that aren't on Rightmove. But there isn't much about at the moment, things seem to be cooling down.

We cant find anything either

I come back to Rightmove because it's so user friendly. Zoopla and On The Market both have really crap websites IMO. Rightmove is so easy to use.

I think if you're house hunting seriously you need to be in the door of all of the local agents, I suspect in a market like this one, houses are being sold before even coming to the mass market - agents will have prospective buyers on their books who will get info on houses coming to the market before they hit rightmove etc. Certainly in my area several houses I know of have been sold "off-market"

Check the websites of the local Estate Agents for the town you're interested in - often things don't get as far as the big sites like Right Move etc, those are often used only for the things that don't get snapped up immediately from the EA themselves and need a wider audience.

Also worth following the Instagram pages of the local estate agents in the area you are house hunting, they tend to have "coming soon" properties so you can get in to book viewings early.
