Vendor pulled out

Seller pulled out after 5 months and now struggling to find somewhere else. There's not much on the market that we really like. So annoying as they said they'd move into rented and we have been extremely patient with them. This changes things for us as well.

Did / Has anyone found something better after their initial sellers pulled out?

Sorry this as happened to you, I'm on the other side and just had to pull my sale.

Almost twelve months and I can't find a property, yes my buyer been patient and still might want to wait but I need to move on with life.

I think a lot of people are in this situation, maybe not for twelve months 😱, but lack of property I suppose you try and hang on living in hope vendor finds something.

Yes I do feel bad but the estate agents dragged it out possibly (what have they been telling the buyers🤔)
Obviously the buyers could of pulled also if they had any sense, I know I would of done.

Did your sellers tell you personally they would go into rented? Estate agents are hanging on to sales and telling buyers want they want to hear🙄, also it's not easy to rent a shortage of those also.

Hopefully the market may alter and more property becomes available and you find something.

This happened to me. We did find something better but we had to expand our search area considerably. It took 2 months to find another place, then that fell through, then another 2 months to find the one we eventually bought. It was horribly stressful with both the rental market (had to find somewhere fast) and the sales market zooming upwards, but I am happier with where we've ended up than where we would have been.

Yes this happened to us.
We ended up with a much better house location wise.

Yes it happened to me. Took me in a different direction, and I'm relieved the first house purchase fell through.

SpiderinaWingMirror · 11/08/2021 12:13

Yes!.
Second house was bigger, semi rather than end terrace and because of lower mortgage rates, monthly payments lower than the first.

We'll move into rented is the cheque's in the post of house buying!

We ended up attempting to buy 3 houses on our last move, but we did end up in the best one!

I feel your pain. Our vendors pulled out on day of exchange with no explanation, having also pre signed contracts and being the link in the chain pushing everyone for an early exchange date. It was horrible.

But we did manage to keep our buyers and find somewhere else which we are very happy with. The people we eventually ended up buying from had had their buyers pull out so we were luckily both ready and motivated.

However this wasn’t in the current market so may not be comparable. Good luck.

Really encouraging hearing all your positive stories. Thank you for sharing. I'll keep my fingers crossed that ours end up better as well.

It's a shame though that parties can just pull out with no tangible reason and with no consequences, particularly after a few months. There should be some sort of acceptable reasons to withdraw and if anything outside of that, a fee to pay.
Probably never going to happen.

They waited a whole year for you to find somewhere? That seems insane, on all sides! You’d hope they were mentally prepared that this wasn’t going anywhere after so long…

It does seem especially risky until the chain is complete at the moment.
