Roughly how long until mortgage offer?

Hello,
Recently applied for a mortgage. Sent off all documentation and the valuation is booked in for Tuesday 10th. I know it depends on circumstances but in your experience how long did you have to wait between valuation and offer?

We had to wait 2 weeks! But I think it was because my OH is paid weekly and we were relying on his regular overtime towards affordability. Or it may have been just because Covid like everything else 🤷‍♀️

We waited 3 days between valuation and offer with Nationwide. Ours was a physical valuation, I saw online that people who had a desktop valuation got offers the same day.

We had our offer approved "pending valuation", then it was approved the same working day as the valuation (which was only a paper one- it may take longer if they actually go and visit).

Ours only arrived earlier this week around two and a half weeks after the valuation. And our solicitor still doesnt have the instructions.

Our has been complex so about 6 weeks, mortgage offer sent a week after valuation survey, but it’s been encrypted and my brokers can’t access it so they are now waiting for it to arrive by post (WTF)

Four months, with the initial bank- no idea why as a totally standard application. Nightmare. They just kept saying it was being done, but Covid delays etc.
We ended up going with HSBC instead as couldn't wait any longer; they only took 3 days.

Took 3 weeks with Santander, very straight forward finances and low LTV. I think there's just a backlog.

The 3 weeks was from original application to offer, valuation was a desktop one and offer came through an hour later.

I was told with nationwide about 21 working days turnaround time. Not expecting any issues but even so thought that was quite a long time.

Ours was 8 weeks to get a 'yes'. valuation booked for this Friday so god knows how long to get the official approval!
