Have you used peel and stick wood veneer? Was it easy to work with, and did it look OK in the end, or just naff?
I have a built in sill that I want to change the colour of (make lighter). It's a dark engineered wood so sanding/staining didn't work. I wondered about covering it in self-adhesive wood veneer, but I can't get my mind past sticky-back plastic with wood effect that we used for craft projects like dolls houses in the 70s, and it looked very cheap and naff! I know this is totally different, but it's hard to imagine.
Does the stick on veneer look OK? It would need to go around the front/curved edge of the wood.
Possibly I'd do it myself, though I'd prefer to find someone actually experienced in using it to make it look as good as possible, but not sure any tradespeople would actually ever use it!
