Matt or gloss tiles?

My new kitchen will have very matt very white doors, and very matt very white walls. Worktops will be matt brown/dark oak. Wall tiles will also be white, but should I choose matt or glossy? So far my thoughts are:

Can I have too much matt?
Would glossy white actually look a bit grey up against very white cupboards?
Does it really matter?
Where's the chocolate....

i would go to the tile place and look at the tiles in person you will know which ones you like what we did was took a small piece of offcut kickboard with us and put the tiles against that we went for matt

I've got white matt units, white matt tiles but a glossy worktop. It's quartz but has a bold black and grey design with touches of white. I am very happy with it.

I know I should go to the tile place, but I've already been to the kitchen place, another kitchen place (twice), the appliances place and two flooring places. Normally, I love interior design and buying stuff, but really, there are too many choices. I'm lucky to have this problem I know.

Have you thought about a mix of gloss and matt like this photo?

I love the mix that chequerboard posted. Im doing my kitchen atm and Ive already bought matt tiles that are 330mm in length (homebase) but they don't do a glossy version. I've gone around a few shops today but they all seem to be 300mm in length.

@ChequerBoard Brilliant. I love it, and it solves my dilemma.

Yes 330mm is an unusual size to match with with a gloss tile. Any chance you can return them to Homebase and order matching matt and gloss 300mm tiles?

I was on topps tiles yesterday and noticed they're selling boxes of matt and gloss tiles together. They've also got a few holographic tiles in each box.

Doesn't suit the style I'm looking for, but thought it was really interesting. May be worth a look OP

I would choose gloss on the walls if it’s behind a sink or hob or food prep area as it’s easier to keep clean.
