Will this be a problem?

Hi,
My problem is....

I'm planning to buy in my own name. I have a good deposit and a full time job. I have a mortgage offer in principle.

But I'm lodging with a lady who has just served me notice. This now means another address on my record.

I owned and lived in a flat for 13 yrs. I was stable. I rented it to try a new area, put it up for sale, sale fell thro, returned to live in it, sold it, moved back. Now it looks like I move around a lot.

When I told the mortgage broker that I had to move again I felt that his attitude towards me changed, like I'm a liability.

In a 3 yr period I will now have 5 addresses.

My credit rating is good tho, but brought down by the moving around.

How damaging do you think another move will be?

And, I'm viewing somewhere I like this weekend, what if I offer and apply for mortgage, and then move at the end of August. I could have the offer by then but would need to declare change of address. Would offer be declined for that do you think?

My dd has had several addresses in the last few years just from moving each year at uni/for jobs, I wasn't aware that she had to list every place she'd lived on her (successful) mortgage application (it's not like they're going to chase up all the landlords to check)

It's the last 3 years. I hope it will be ok. It will have to be. Being given notice is a right pita.

Thank you for your reassurance.

I think (but could accept a different answer) that the main reason for listing the addresses is for financial history and consistency. So you need the addresses you have used for bank accounts and ID documents. So as a student that would have been my parents’ address because I didn’t have a ‘footprint’ at the others. So I think it depends on whether you’ve updated those details when you’ve moved.

I think if you need to include them it doesn’t make that much difference providing the information tallies with what records show.

Ah great. Thanks.

I'm not a person who does shady things. I dont want to be dishonest. I also don't want to be considered a bad risk when this period of life is unsettled and does not reflect who I am.

I’d moved around loads and didn’t have a problem getting a mortgage. I don’t think you need to worry.

When we bought our house we had 3 addresses in 3 years and it made no difference
