New kitchen - how shall I tile?

This kitchen has been 2 years in the making. Delays because of child, covid and stock levals. My kitchen has finally arrived from IKEA.

I bought white metro tiles 2 years ago so I'm sticking with them. I bought enough for the whole wall but I'm thinking now whether to go right to the bottom of the hood all the way along or just that little bit.

The hood and hob are going in the centre of the attached. How would you tile it. I'm not having any upper units.

With no wall units I’d just tile the width of the hob up to the hood.

I would tile the lot. I don't like lots of changes in surfaces or levels and it is much easier to keep clean. The way I cook I can't contain splashes to the width of the hob!

Just to add, if there are no wall units, I might put up a kitcheny picture (herb chart etc.).

I think I'd rather tile the whole width of the kitchen units instead of just the hob area. I'm just not sure on the height.

My original idea was to the ceiling but then I thought it'd be better to do it just to the bottom of the hood all the way along.

I've also just seen a mix of matt and gloss which I think looks rather nice.
