Hi, I am 30 weeks pregnant and live with DH and DS (2) and we should be completing on Friday. This is the third time I've bought a house and by far the most stressful.
My buyers solicitor is completely incompetent. He doesn't respond to my Solicitors's emails or calls and takes weeks to return very simple paperwork. After huge delays because of how he insists on going about his business (one example of many - waiting until the searches had come back before making any enquiries) and a refusal to communicate properly.
Last Friday he finally agreed to a proposed completion date of 6th August and suggested exchange on the Tuesday (yesterday) then was completely uncontactable by my solicitor all day! It took her half a day of trying to get hold of him today for him to say they could exchange this afternoon - he then proceeded to be uncontactable all afternoon! I don't actually believe this is going through in two days time, despite my solicitor's best efforts and it feels like I'm tearing my hair out trying to organise the whole bleeding chain, because if I didn't nothing would get done! (My solicitor also went on a sudden two week holiday last month and left her cover in the hands of somebody who had a mental breakdown trying to deal with her workload - sad for them I know- but I also couldn't get hold of this person for a full week)
I am in contact with both my vendor and my buyer, (who is going to call him first thing in the morning) which has its perks and also some major challenges. I don't want to go into too many details because it could be outing.
Spending my evening packing tonight and for what? I don't know. Just venting.
