Kitchen cabinet colours

Ohhh help please. I have my kitchen design agreed, I know I'm having Burbidge painted doors but I just can't decide on colours, I know I know, hopeless. Nothing really grabs me and I so want it to look 'wow'.

My kitchen isn't huge, about 12ft x 12ft with North West facing window and SW facing back door into a glass porch, so get light though there too. The kitchen is L shape and I'm going for a shaker style with cup handles on drawers and knob handles on cupboards. I think I've borrowed nearly every colour door from the kitchen company, I come to a decision then change my mind! At the moment I'm looking at Baltic Green base and Gravel wall cabinets, or Gravel base and Putty Wall. I'm hoping to have Irini quartz worktops, but may have to settle for wood effect laminate with a wood effect vinyl tile flooring.

My situation is I live alone and have a dog/cats, so no children running around but hopefully will soon have a pup to keep my other dog company.

Has anyone else had Baltic Green in their kitchen? Would it be too dark do you think in a 12 x 12 kitchen? Has anyone else had dark base units and then regretted it...if so why?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I really am driving myself up the wall with this and so want to get it right. My kitchen is currently painted bone china blue on wood panelling and bone china blue mid (both Little Greene) above.

Thanks :)

I have a Burbidge kitchen, Kew, in Alabaster. I can’t advise on colours but the kitchens are great, I have had no problems at all in 5 years.

Thanks for that, it''s good to know they are not problematic.

You should decide on the worktops before the unit colours. I wouldn’t want want anything other than very pale units with Irini quartz because it can get really imposing when there isn’t a lot of light.
