Velvet sofas

Do velvet sofas wear well- or do they look grubby quickly

I'm eying up -a sofa from DFS and another from Next.. just wondering if the 'easy clean' labels live up to the hype!

Fabrics have a Martindale score which shows how durable they are, I was toying between velvet and wool and chose wool due to the higher score. I'd hope DFS would show the scores for their fabrics?

We've had one for 5 years - I've have the cushions off regularly and stick them in the wash, hang them on the line or on the clothes horse and they always dry lovely, pop them back on and it looks good as new

Good to hear it is washable - I shall ask for the fabric rating when i go in too :)

Ours is about 2 years old so too early to talk about long term but showing no signs of wear yet.
