Accepted an offer on our house back in April, porting our current mortgage and topping up to buy a bigger property. Anyways, our mortgage company have been absolutely shocking, our broker is losing his kind. We are due to conclude and still not had offer of loan paperwork despite the process all being completed. Apparently they just have to ‘move to offer’, but we’ve been waiting six weeks and still nothing. I called today to be told they couldn’t give me a timeframe, couldn’t tell me if I was looking at days or weeks. Or bloody months. No service level agreements because porting is ‘new to them’ and they’re behind as they are a ‘small team’. It’s a subsidiary of a large bank, not like it’s a back street set up.
Was I wrong to lose my sh*t? If your so overwhelmed, you shouldn’t be taking on more business? I’m kind of stuck as early term is £8k, which I’d rather not have to pay due to their lack of resource.
It’s driving me crazy as I’m worried we’ll lose our buyers/our new property.
