Help - what are the rules for curtain sizing?

So our new house has amazing massive windows.

I've just measured for a blackout blind for my toddlers room and the internal measurement is 250cm wide / 150cm internal drop

Standard blind sizes seem to stop at 240cm... so I'm now thinking some thick blackout curtains but I don't know how to measure for curtains or the amount of extra I should allow for curtain folds?

Is there a general rule to follow for this? Im going to have to work this out for all 6 of the massive windows we have so might as well start now!

Also any recommendations for where to buy blinds that are non standard widths?

Dunelm have a good page explaining curtain measurements.

Each curtain should be the size of the window.
So, for your sons window above, you'd get a pair of curtains 250cm wide (ish, if a standard curtain size is 230 or 275, dont sweat it!), and a length at least 15+height of rail above window+whatever you want it to finish below the windowsill.
