Removal companies

Does anyone have any recommendations for removal companies or some “definitely don’t” cautionary tales?

Recently accepted an offer on my house and will be moving several hundred miles into a rental until I find somewhere to buy. There’s myself, one dc and 2 dogs going so decided to pay for someone to do the work this time (we’ve always moved ourselves in the past). Ideally I was hoping to find a company that could store the items I won’t have room for in the rental until I buy - if such a thing exists.

I’d ask around locally if I was you.

I’d also recommend getting quotes relatively early in the process so you can quickly book once you exchange. And also if there’s any way you can afford it, have the packing service (it’s usually surprisingly cheap considering the hassle and time it saves you).

I recommend checking firms at your destination as well as where you live, I found it cheaper that way around. Going into rented often works in your favour because you can choose a less popular day (not Friday) and no need to vacate at 11am.

Great advice thank you. I hadn’t considered checking companies at destination may make it cheaper.
