Anyone ordered from Citysofa?

They sell the same sofas as Made.com but with much shorter lead times. But other than their listing on eBay, one with 66% good 33% saying scam I can’t see any other reviews. I’ve read the terms and conditions and they say they are ‘governed by the laws of India’, but I see no connection with that country. The company is in Darlington, they have email, mail and phone number details. I requested a fabric swatch which arrived promptly, but I don’t want to spend £££ unless they are legit (the company behind it is S and R Trading which is listed as furniture wholesalers on company house run by a man and woman (British) with same last name).

Did you purchase from them in the end? I’m also looking at getting a sofa from them but can’t find any reviews. Not sure if the prices are too good to be true!

I did, as the lead time was two weeks compared to four months! I have not received the goods yet, but I did change my mind about the colour of the chair (ordered sofa and chair) and got a reply within 24 hours confirming the change and that the courier would be in touch to arrange a convenient delivery. I also like that they will take the furniture in to the room of choice and set it up.
I will update once the sofa arrives!
I ordered a table from Wayfair which was exactly as described, and dining chairs from Furnwise... and got two bar stools. I have had an email asking for a photo, which I guess is normal, but it was annoying that the included shipping receipt was correct for four chairs but the items were totally wrong and I now have a huge box in my hallway and of course no chairs still!

Hey, has your sofa arrived yet? This is the only sort of review I can find for their website - feeling very sceptical! Thanks

It is supposed to arrive next week. They did ask, with one days notice, to deliver last week as they were 'in the area', but I was out all day. I'll post again once the stuff arrives! (Though not exactly the two week in stock delivery promised).

Any update on your sofa? I am wondering about ordering from them.

Pokhora · 29/08/2021 19:35

Sorry missed your last post. Hope all goes well next week.

Ok so after a couple false starts (was told late Saturday that it would arrive Sunday, leaving me no time to get the old sofa out, so it's now in the dining room), the furniture arrived this morning. The guys were sceptical about getting the three seater in as I do have a narrow hallway (Victorian terrace) but as the legs aren't attached they got it in. Very comfy . I ordered a matching Scott chair too and it's huge - I did measure it out when the room was empty but it now has dog beds and side tables and the tv is still on the floor until it gets mounted later this week. So perhaps the chair is too big for the space. But the three seater looks great and big enough to sleep on. Got the ottoman too as the chaise sofa would definitely have not fit.
So my final verdict is: lovely sofas, but it took six weeks to deliver even though advertised as two weeks delivery. Still a lot better (and significantly cheaper) than the Made.com delivery timescale which was 14-16 weeks.

Thanks for the update OP. Glad you were pleased with it despite the wait. I ended up getting our armchairs from Wayfair in the end. They were delivered the next day and are lovely.

@Pokhora yes I've ordered a few things from Wayfair. My other risky purchase was Furnwise, which is Dutch. I have the right chairs now, but initially they delivered two bar stools, and they expect me to take them to the post office to ship back! Well it's a very big box, not particularly heavy but awkward, and the nearest place to me that I can park nearby has a flight of stairs - no way can I do that. I asked them what if I didn't even have a car? No help. They said parcel force would collect them for £20, though when I used the website it was over £100 and anyway why should I pay anything for their mistake? The box is still in the hallway!

Did you ever receive your sofa?

Loveboho · 08/01/2022 14:13

Has anyone found the low back on these sofas to be a problem comfort wise?
