We're looking to get our garden done, after getting a few quotes I have picked one of them. We've asked for the work to happen in March 2022 and he has said he needs a deposit to hold the dates which is fine.
So questions:
What percentage deposit is the norm? I was thinking 10%?
How do I ensure he won't take the money and run off?
What checks do I need to do about his business, should I ask him for any particular information?
