Lost out again

Hello all,

I've just been told we lost out on best and finals again to an offer "significantly higher" that ours, this is the 4th time this has happened.

I'm by default a very positive person but I'm starting to lose faith. Nothing suitable coming up in our search area and I just want to find a house so I'm settled for school catchments for me DS. Realistically I know I have time, my son is 2 but I'm now thinking getting a house bought and moved into by next September is a bigger ask than I first thought.

I hate house hunting. I hate this market. Meh

Are you offering under asking? If you are in this market you will not be winning in best and finals

I expect op is offering over the asking price but that isn’t cutting it either anymore.

No I'm offering anything between 30-40k over guide price. One went for 74k over guide price.

The estate agent was pretty open about the fact that the houses will be downvalued by mortgage companies so who knows perhaps I'll get another try at them later. Currently it's a tough situation to be in but I'll get there I'm sure
