Can someone point me in the right direction of companies that we can approach for insuring our renovation and extension project?

We've bought an old property and diggers have already started clearing the garden etc. I've been advised (word of mouth) to get insurance - builder has his own - but no one can tell me who to get the Insurance from.

Do you have household/buildings insurance if so talk to your current provider. If not you should have buildings insurance it maybe trickier now you have work started as it is more normal for cover to be extended from your ore-existing policy.

Check with your current insurer first, and if not try HomeProtect - they do this sort of cover.

@BlackAlys we are halfway through our project and initially spoke to our house insurance company who passed us onto another company as they weren't able to provide the necessary cover. However it was all fairly straightforward albeit quite expensive!
