Moving to Bournemouth

I'm hopefully moving from Chilterns in Buckinghamshire to Bournemouth mid to end September. Offers accepted. Looking for recommendations for a Valuer/Surveyor and also a removal firm. I can only think of Pickfords who I suspect will be pricey.

Welcome to Bournemouth. We have lived here for ten years. Sorry no movers suggestions but there are lots of very active local Facebook groups where I'm sure you would find suggestions

D&M did our house move and were brilliant. Can't recommend them enough. (Local to Bournemouth, not sure how far they travel but very reasonable).

Thanks very much. D&M looking promising. Met the parents of my buyers today. Strangely, they live in Wallisdown, so have given me some helpful tips today.

I would use this for a survey.

Good luck with your move!

We used a local removal company called Park & Sons when we moved in 2018, they were amazing, honestly such fantastic service, we used their packing service & it was the best decision we made. They also waited until very late to unpack us in our new home and the weather was horrific torrential rain (we moved 2 weeks before Christmas) & charged us no extra. Can highly recommend them, not sure how far they will travel but I believe they will go further afield.

I can also highly recommend Nick Pavlou for surveying work. uk.linkedin.com/in/nick-pavlou-24527516

Hi @Mallens Did you move? How did it all go?

Mallens · 05/11/2021 18:53

Not yet. Been a bit of a carry on with both my buyer and the person I'm buying from. Should complete by end of this month. Using D&M Removals, they've been very helpful. Rang the surveyors recommended, but all booked up for 2 months. Will be back on for more recommendations - Doctors and Dentists. The local ones have terrible reviews.

I've been planning this move for many years. Left my job last week, so cannot wait to get down there and start a new life. Also giving up my garden, so looking for a voluntary group involved with gardening, looking after the beach etc.
