Hi I'm looking for nice area in Reading to move to that's not too expensive (I know everywhere is these days) and was wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere? No kids but good access to motorway or train station would be handy.

Blagdon Road is basically Whitley. I used to live on Northumberland Avenue but we had our car broken in to multiple times and our home broken into, so we sold up and moved to a different area in reading.

one thing Whitely always had though was a good structure such as toddler groups and health clinics, baby weigh in etc. so could be good for young families. Im not sure on schools anymore but that was another reason we moved. Our eldest had started reception and we were not happy with the local school. But obviously these things change over years.

hi @Anj86 late to thred but I lived on Blagdon road for 10 years... few issues with things being nicked out my garden in first few years...but not much in the later part.

Neighbours were nice and all in all pretty quiet...not many kids on street...nursery there was always busy at drop offs..but otherwise I would def say a nicer part of Whitley
