5 burner gas hob

AnnieJ1985 · 12/07/2021 07:47

Replacing our hob soon and going for a bigger 5 burner gas one.

I have seen a few with the 5th wok ring on the left hand side. The way our counter top flows, I would prefer the wok burner on the right. Do any of you have one you would recommend? Or suggestions of brands to look at?

Cheers

Our wok burner is in the middle

We have just bought a Neff hide and slide oven and a Neff 5 burner hob. The 5th burner is in the middle and we prefer it.
My last hob had the 5th one on the right. For some reason we hardly used it , but we are with this new one.

My 5th burner was in the middle, I liked that because it gave a bit more room for using bigger pans on the other rings when it wasn’t being used

MaintainingPositivity · 12/07/2021 11:21

Another one with a middle wok burner!

IggyAce · 12/07/2021 11:23

Our wok is in the middle too, ours is hotpoint and we’ve had it for around 15years and it’s still going strong.

I was cooing over a rangemaster in curry’s yesterday that had the wok burner on the right.
They had a smeg version with the wok burner in the middle.
Both 120cm size

Thanks for the replies 💐

I should have said I don't want a centre wok ring. We had one before in an old house and while it was great for the wok, my other pans didn't fit well around it. It looks like LHS is the standard, but I will keep googling to see if I can find one on the right!

Do you need a wok hob? We had a metal piece that we could sit on a hob to hold a wok

AnnieJ1985 · 12/07/2021 17:16

No, it is just a "would be nice" when we are changing the old one anyway. I did like having 5 rings in my old house, just would have preferred wok to the side.

We use our wok on a normal ring at the moment, and it is fine. I have just taken a notion I want a new one!

Ours is on rhs - Rangemaster Excel 110cm

De88 · 13/07/2021 20:48

Ours is a Zanussi, bought 5 years ago and not sure of the model number but did a LOT of research- it's the only one I could find that I can fit an actual wok plus 4 good sized pans on it all at the same time.

AnnieJ1985 · 13/07/2021 20:51

Thank you!
May end up taking 5 pans to Currys 😂

I have a five ring Rangemaster Professional 100cm with wok burner on right hand side. Had it for three years now. Love it! Use the wok burner all the time.

AnnieJ1985 · 13/07/2021 22:41

Is that a hob or a full cooker/range?
I only need to replace our hob, the separate oven is staying.

@AnnieJ1985 sorry, I forgot to address my post to you directly…

DanielleandBobby · 13/07/2021 23:09

@AnnieJ1985 I think our messages crossed. I misread what you wanted - no, mine is a range cooker - sorry. Hope you find one!

De88 · 14/07/2021 07:36

@AnnieJ1985

Thank you! May end up taking 5 pans to Currys 😂
The thought crossed my mind too Grin
AnnieJ1985 · 14/07/2021 07:36

Thanks @DanielleandBobby

I would LOVE a new range, but we definitely don't have the space.

I started off looking for a wok ring, now I want an extension to take a range 😂

@AnnieJ1985 We’ve just put our house on the market, and I’m quite prepared to knock down part of our future kitchen just to squeeze in another range! I’m a complete convert now (really don’t like induction Grin ). Best of luck anyway.
