Bar stools marking floor

We’ve bought some new bar stools for our kitchen that arrived this week - have a pale coloured tiled floor (I know, pale floors are a nightmare but seemed like a good idea at the time).
Anyway the stools leave dark marks on the floor whenever they are moved (especially by the children who drag them). I also mopped the floor the other day and they left rust marks when I moved the stools onto the wet area.

I don’t think we can return the stools now as they are obviously used. I can see lots of stool protector type things on Amazon etc. but so they work? Or any other tips?
Thanks

The marks do seem to come off with a bit of scrubbing but I ideally don’t want to spend the rest of my life removing marks from the floor!!

No personal experience but I know the sort of thing. Can you get floor coloured rubber feet for them? What a pain though!

You can get the little rubber ferrules that you get on the bottom of walking sticks etc …… I’ve used some before on stools that were scratching a slate floor.

This is the sort of thing I used.

You can get them with metal washers inside to spread the load of a stool so the metal won’t poke through the rubber when someone heavy is sitting on them .

We’ve got solid oak floors and all our furniture have floor protectors on them. Sticky little pads that are circular or square. We bought them from Poundland. Depends on the feet though.

We got felt pads for our dining chairs and bar stools. They are brilliant. Not only protect the floor but stop that horrible scraping sound. Only cost a few quid!

Great thanks all. Seems like a common issue! I should have said that the base is circular rather than having thin legs. We have ordered some felt pads and see how we get on..

I had the same problem with my oak dining chairs on my cream tiles floors, the scraping when chairs were pull out and and marks on the tiles. I brought felt pads that stick underneath the chairs. Absolutely bliss, no noise, chairs side out easier, no marks. I used cif cream to get rid of the marks that were there. Good luck.
