Aluminium windows in loft conversion- worth it?

Planning a loft conversion soon. I like the look of black aluminium windows but not sure how much extra they are cost wise? Any thoughts on whether they're worth the extra cost? Should we just save money with upvc?

I guess the cost will depend on the size of the window. They are more expensive. I’m not sure I’d splash out on them for a bedroom unless it was to match the rest of the house.

I would. I hate pvc. My new house has them and I'm going to switch to sash composite as soon as possible.

We are doing up a derelict home with thin, crittal windows. We are having black aluminum on the outside and white inside. They were the only ones with a thin frame. UPVC is fat and would look out of place on our home. Yet to get a total cost as yet though. Are you planning on matching the rest of the house, or having a mix-match of windows?

Aluminium windows get condensation on the metal that leads to black mold
