Lily pad tiles

What do you all think?

Specifically for a hallway floor. DP is very keen and I do like them but I'm also a bit concerned that we've both gone temporarily mad. They'll be butting on to the kitchen which is yellowish engineered wood, and there's also a downstairs bathroom with a different pattern of tile (more traditional).. will it just look like a higgledy piggledy mess?

Also, what colour should we do the walls? Confused

TIA for any advice. I am losing the will to live trying to make a decision on this.

I really like those. I say go for it!

Whataboutye88 · 02/07/2021 22:37

I love them, been considering them myself! The only thing is they’re very ‘in’ at the moment so could date quickly?

mycatsbetterthanyours · 03/07/2021 03:04

Those are the exact same ones I have on order! I love them and think they're pretty classic so won't date massively.
Just a note of caution; they're out if stock at the moment but due in around mid/late August.

DramaAlpaca · 03/07/2021 03:13

Oh they are amazing! Love them.

However, I do think that as you are having at least three different types of flooring close together downstairs it might not look very coordinated. Sorry, but I don't think it'll flow.

PS, if you do go for them, keep the walls pale and neutral.

Pigeonorcoot · 03/07/2021 05:39

Thank you all!

If they're out of stock then that answers it - we've left it really late and need to order them now 😕

Fwiw I share the concerns about "flow" and also about them dating so maybe it's for the best.

I like them but they are EVERYWHERE. I get about four home design mags and they must be number one in the ads and featured homes. But they are a classic design so I don't think they will ever have a 'what was I thinking moment', more a 'oh bet you put these in during the pandemic'.
Like that blue Denby pottery - still lovely, but everyone I know who got married in the 1980s has it.

I can be the boring voice of reason too. Your tiler will hate you/charge you loads and so much pale grout will be a nightmare to clean.
Although I would totally make a small feature of them somewhere practical if I could

I have some in my bathrooms and they do look beautiful. Mine are dark blue though.

VenusClapTrap · 03/07/2021 09:38

I love them and wanted them for our bathroom when we did it last year. They will date though, so we went for something more neutral in the end. I still feel slight regret though.

Pigeonorcoot · 03/07/2021 23:30

Thanks all. It looks like those particular tiles are out of consideration - your input has been very helpful!

The tile is made by Marazzi and it's name is Hex lily aquamarine and comes in various colours, the pattern can be layed in any direction depending on preference. There might be other suppliers of Marazzi in your area.

I have them in my bathroom. I know they're done to death but I love them!
