How many viewings

Is reasonable without being excessive? 2 seems like the normal, but what would people think if someone wanted a further 2/3 viewings after an offer is accepted, till completion?

Whats their reasons?

Ie. measuring/ getting work quotes / or just having a nosey

Dalooah · 01/07/2021 00:48

One to show a child who didn't attend first two, and further for measurements etc

Show the child is a bit weird (but I dont have children so no idea if thats the norm). What if the child says they hate it! :S

I would offer 1 for 30 minutes. Measure, bring the child. Do both. Thats it.

I think it's fine to have a third viewing, especially if they have exchanged. Beyond that- unless the place is empty it does seem excessive.
I did have a buyer who came four times before exchanging. The fifth time I was actually moving out and the agent tried to say she'd be quick and just wanted to measure something she missed! I said no, partly because I thought she wouldn't buy it as it was a complete mess! I was single with two young kids too - no consideration at all.

I think 3 is the Max, including first viewing.

starbrightstarlight8888 · 01/07/2021 07:00

Surely they could show the child at the same time they measure everything?

BeautifulandWilfulandDead · 01/07/2021 07:37

I had three. Two to decide, one after offer to show the kids.

I saw the house I am (hopefully) buying for all of ten minutes before it went to sealed bids - but it’s a fixer upper so was more about footprint and location. Our buyer, however, saw our house four times including touring it with her parents for their view despite the fact I’d guess she is in her 40s. They drove four hours during a pandemic to do so.

Bluntness100 · 01/07/2021 09:19

I think it’s fine and I simoly don’t understand peoples view That you should spend so much money and not get to see it more than two short visits, friggen batshit.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 01/07/2021 09:36

We’ve had three on ours but third one was to consider whether to increase our offer after previous offer had been turned down and was a month or so later due to vendor delays.

Our viewings were first just DH and I, second with children (secondary age) and third just adults again. We will probably have another just before exchange to check everything OK and perhaps workout where to put of trickier furniture.

Seeingadistance · 01/07/2021 10:46

One visit for measurements and child can come along then. No need for two separate visits, and seller could well refuse even the one.

mothergooseinnorthwest · 01/07/2021 10:58

We have had three, the third time to just show my child the garden. We didn't go in the house. The vendor was very nice and accommodating. She also allowed us to move the trampoline there the day before.
